Directions to road games for RPI Baseball. All these assume you can make it from wherever you are to the main arteries leading out of the Capital District, such as I-87, NY-7, NY-2 and the New York Thruway. Distances shown are from Troy and are approximate. Your mileage may vary.
Auburn (NCAA Regionals)
New York Thruway (I-90) West to Exit 40, then NY-34 South towards Auburn. At the intersection with York Street, turn right onto York and continue until it intersects North Division Street, then turn left onto North Division. Falcon Park is about 2/3 mile ahead on the left. Distance: 185 miles.
Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts
NY-2 East into Massachusetts, then continue on the same road, now MA-2 East into North Adams. In North Adams take a right and follow Main Street down the hill towards the Holiday Inn. (This intersection occurs shortly after crossing a bridge over railroad tracks.) Go through the first light and take a right immediately after the Holiday Inn onto American Legion Drive. At the intersection with Ashland Drive, take a right onto Ashland (MA-8A South). Continue for about 3 miles (going under a railroad bridge). When there is a cemetery on the right, take a left onto West Shaft Road. Follow the road around until heading north again. When the road forks, bear to the left. At the top is the Zavattaro Athletic Complex. Distance: 40 miles.
Rochester (Liberty League Championships)
New York Thruway (I-90) West to Exit 46. Follow I-390 North to Exit 16 and exit onto East River Drive. Follow East River Drive as it parallels, then crosses over, I-390 and comes to an intersection with West Henrietta Drive. Go straight at this intersection, straight at the next light, and then take a right at the following light onto Kendrick Road. Kendrick Road becomes Lattimore Road as it enters the University of Rochester campus and comes to an end at the intersection with Elmwood Avenue. Take a left onto Elmwood Avenue, go under the overpass, and then take a right at the light, onto Wilson Boulevard. Then take the next right onto Trustee Road. When Trustee Road ends, go left on Intercampus Drive. Eventually on the left is Library Road, next to a parking lot. Take the left into the parking lot, park, and Towers Field is within walking distance down Library Road, on the other side of the stadium. Distance: 235 miles.
Skidmore
I-87 North to Exit 15. Take a left at the end of the ramp and follow NY-50 South towards Saratoga Springs. At the third major intersection after I-87, take a right onto East Avenue. Continue to Broadway, then take a left onto Broadway. Two blocks later take a right onto First Street. Continue on First Street as it becomes Clement Avenue. At the intersection with Seward Street, take a right (north) onto Seward, which becomes Denton Road when the road curves to the left. Pass under the railroad bridge and Castle Diamond appears ahead on the right, after the intersection following the railroad bridge. NOTE: The facility is not on the Skidmore campus. Distance: 30 miles.
St. Lawrence
I-87 North to Exit 23. After exiting head west and follow the signs leading to NY-28. Take NY-28 North into Indian Lake, picking up NY-30. Follow NY-30 to Tupper Lake, then take NY-3 West. After about 18 miles, take a right onto NY-56 North and follow it into Colton, then take NY-68. After about 3.5 miles there is a fork in the road and NY-68 goes to the right. Bear left onto Pierrepont-Canton Road, which eventually becomes Brick Chapel Road and intersects with Canton-Russell Road. Continue north on Canton-Russell Road and after crossing the bridge St. Lawrence University appears ahead. Take the first left after the bridge and go behind the athletic facilities. Tom Fay Field is just beyond the end of the parking lot. Distance: 210 miles.
Troy (Joe Bruno Stadium)
I-787 South to Exit 7E. Take NY-378 East over the bridge. Shortly after crossing the bridge, at the light, take a right onto Morrison Avenue and go up the steep hill. At the next light turn right onto US-4 South and stay in the left lane. At the third set of lights take a left into the Hudson Valley Community College campus. Joe Bruno Stadium is straight ahead. Distance: 5 miles.
Vassar
New York Thruway (I-87) South to Exit 18. Take a right after the exit and head east on NY-299 to US-9W. Then US-9W South to US-44 East, going across the river on the Mid-Hudson Bridge. After the bridge exit onto US-9 North. Be careful, it is necessary to head south, then turn around and head north. Within a few minutes Marist College appears on the left. Take the first entrance (the south entrance) into the school and McCann Field is on the immediate left. NOTE: The facility is on the Marist College campus, not the Vassar College campus. Distance: 90 miles.
