Directions to Road Baseball Venues

Directions to road games for RPI Baseball. All these assume you can make it from wherever you are to the main arteries out of the Capital District, such as I-87, NY-7, NY-2 and the New York Thruway. Distances shown are from Troy and are approximate. Your mileage may vary.

New York Thruway (I-87) South to Exit 19. After leaving the Thruway bear right at the circle onto NY-28, cross over the Thruway then bear right again onto US-209 North. Continue on this road as it crosses the Hudson River and becomes NY-199. On the east side of the Hudson River NY-199 intersects NY-9G. Turn left and head north on NY-9G for 3.5 miles, then turn left at the traffic light onto Annondale Road, which goes through the campus. Take a left onto Woods Road, which is shortly after North Ravine Road (also on the left) and take the next left (which is still Woods Road). Honey Field is ahead on the left.

I-87 North to Exit 23. After exiting head west and follow the signs leading to NY-28. Take NY-28 North into Indian Lake, then pick up NY-30. Follow NY-30 to Tupper Lake, then take NY-3 West. After about 18 miles, take a right onto NY-56 North and follow it to Potsdam. At the second light after passing SUNY Potsdam, take a left and follow US-11 South. At the downtown intersection (in front of the Clarkson Inn), bear left. Continue on US-11. At the next major intersection (it is a little odd), go left and remain on US-11 until the left appears for the main entrance to the Clarkson campus (it is indicated by brick walls labeled with "Clarkson University"). Enter the campus and take the first right for the athletic facilities and parking lot. Snell Field is west of the athletic facilities.

I-90 East to New York Thruway-Berkshire Extension (I-90). Leave the Thruway at Exit B2 and follow the Taconic State Parkway south towards New York City. When the Taconic State Parkway changes name to the Sprain Brook Parkway near Hawthorne, remain on the Sprain Brook. Approximately three miles after the name change comes the intersection with I-287. Follow I-287 East (the Cross-Westchester Expressway, towards White Plains and Rye) until Exit 8E. Following the first intersection after exiting, bear left at the next intersection onto Anderson Hill Road for approximately three miles. The entrance to the Purchase campus appears on the left. Enter and immediately bear right. After the road turns left, take a left at the first intersection. The baseball field is just to the west, next to the parking area.

New York Thruway (I-90) West to Exit 25A. I-88 South until it terminates at I-81, then I-81 South through Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia into Virginia. At Exit 300 leave I-81 and follow I-66 East. Leave I-66 East at Exit 27 and follow US-17 South. In Warrentown US-17 multiplexes with US-29. When US-17 and US-29 split remain on US-17 until it reaches I-95, then follow I-95 South. Leave I-95 at Exit 92 and head east on VA-54 (England Street). A little over one mile later turn right on North Center Street, which parallels the railroad tracks. One-half mile later Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park is on the right, behind the athletic complex and a parking lot.

New York Thruway (I-87) South to Exit 18. Take a right after the exit and head east on NY-299 to US-9W. Then US-9W South to US-44 East, going across the river on the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Stay on US-44 to the intersection with Raymond Avenue (NY-376), then take a right onto Raymond. At the next light turn right onto Hooker Avenue. Turn right across from the gas station (intersection with Cedar Avenue on the left). Prentiss Field's baseball facility is ahead on the right.

Western New England

I-90 East to the New York Thruway-Berkshire Extension (I-90) to Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90). Turnpike East to Exit 6. After the toll plaza, turn left at the traffic light onto I-291 West. Proceed one mile to Exit 5 (East Springfield/Indian Orchard). Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto MA-20A, then immediately move into the left lane. Turn left at the first light onto Roosevelt Avenue. Proceed 2.5 miles to Wilbraham Road and turn left. After approximately 1.75 miles, take the first right following the intersection with Bellamy Road (which was on the left). George E. Trelease Memorial Baseball Park is ahead on the left, after the main athletics complex and the football stadium.

NY-2 East into Massachusetts, then continue on the same road, now MA-2 East into Williamstown. At the intersection with Southworth Street, take a left onto Southworth. Follow Southworth until the tennis courts, then take a left onto Lynde Lane. Follow Lynde Lane to the next intersection and take a right at the stop sign onto Stetson Road, which leads to the athletic fields. Bobby Coombs Field is on the left, after the road bends to the right, in the east corner of the field complex, near Williamstown Cal Ripken Baseball Field.
