Directions to road games for RPI Football. All these assume you can make it from wherever you are to the main arteries leading out of the Capital District, such as I-87, NY-7, NY-2 and the New York Thruway. Distances shown are from Troy and are approximate. Your mileage may vary.
Endicott
I-90 East to New York Thruway-Berkshire Extension (I-90) to Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90). Turnpike East to Exit 14 (I-95). Take I- 95 North around Boston (this is also MA-128). When I-95 and MA-128 split near Peabody, remain on MA-128. Continue to Exit 17 (Grapevine Road/Beverly Farms). Turn right off the exit ramp and right again after 1.5 miles onto Haskell Street (by the cemetery). Proceed to the end and at the stop sign, turn right onto Hale Street (MA-127) to Endicott College. The main entrance is the second entrance on the right. Continue straight back from Hale Street to find Endicott Stadium. Distance: 200 miles.
Merchant Marine
I-90 East to New York Thruway-Berkshire Extension (I-90). Leave the Thruway at Exit B2 and follow the Taconic State Parkway south towards New York City. When the Taconic State Parkway changes name to the Sprain Brook Parkway near Hawthorne, remain on the Sprain Brook. Approximately 3 miles after the name change comes the intersection with I-287. Follow I-287 East (the Cross-Westchester Expressway, towards White Plains and Rye) until it ends at Exit 12 at the intersection with I-95 (New England Thruway). Follow I-95 South into the city. Take Exit 7A in New York (bearing left to I-695) to the Throgs Neck Bridge. Bear right while crossing the bridge and take the exit on the right for the Cross Island Parkway. Follow the Cross Island Parkway to Exit 31E (Northern Boulevard, NY-25A). Proceed east through the village of Little Neck and several traffic lights to the intersection with Great Neck Road. There is a four-story, brown office building on the left and two (2) left turn lanes at this intersection. Get in one of the two left turn lanes. Proceed left (north) on Great Neck Road, and continue straight (always bearing left, even when the roads fork off to the right). Continue north, as the road changes names to North Cutter Mill Road, Bayview Avenue and then to West Shore Road (the distance traveled on this road is approximately 2.5 miles). At end of West Shore Road, turn right onto Kings Point Road. Proceed to the next stop sign and make a left onto Steamboat Road. The Academy entrance/main gate is one block ahead. Captain James Harvey Tomb Field is directly to the right of the main gate. Ask for directions for parking at the gate. Distance: 175 miles.
Rochester
New York Thruway (I-90) West to Exit 46. Follow I-390 North to Exit 16 and exit onto East River Drive. Follow East River Drive as it parallels, then crosses over, I-390 and comes to an intersection with West Henrietta Drive. Go straight at this intersection, straight at the next light, and then take a right at the following light onto Kendrick Road. Kendrick Road becomes Lattimore Road as it enters the University of Rochester campus and comes to an end at the intersection with Elmwood Avenue. Take a left onto Elmwood Avenue, go under the overpass, and then take a right at the light, onto Wilson Boulevard. Then take the next right onto Trustee Road. When Trustee Road ends, go left on Intercampus Drive. Eventually on the left is Library Road, next to a parking lot. Take the left into the parking lot, park, and Fauver Stadium is within walking distance down Library Road. Distance: 235 miles.
St. Lawrence
I-87 North to Exit 23. After exiting head west and follow the signs leading to NY-28. Take NY-28 North into Indian Lake, picking up NY-30. Follow NY-30 to Tupper Lake, then take NY-3 West. After about 18 miles, take a right onto NY-56 North and follow it into Colton, then take NY-68. After about 3.5 miles there is a fork in the road and NY-68 goes to the right. Bear left onto Pierrepont-Canton Road, which eventually becomes Brick Chapel Road and intersects with Canton-Russell Road. Continue north on Canton-Russell Road and after crossing the bridge St. Lawrence University appears ahead. The athletic complex is to the left, along with parking. Leckonby Stadium is next to the athletic complex, visible from the road. Distance: 210 miles.
Utica
New York Thruway (I-90) West to Exit 31. After leaving the Thruway, follow the signs for NY-12 South. It can be confusing, so pay close attention. Follow NY-12 South through Utica and exit at Burrstone Road, heading west (exiting to the right). Approximately 1/2 mile on the right is the Burrstone Road Entrance to the college. Take this entrance and go past the visitors parking (on the right) and continue to move through the campus. Gaetano Stadium is at the far end of the campus from the entrance. Distance: 105 miles.
